Chaitali Nangia, M.D., attended Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi, India followed by a residency at Rush/Resurrection Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park, Illinois. She completed her fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Josephine Ford Cancer Center at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Nangia then joined University of California Irvine as an associate professor in the Hematology/Oncology Division and associate program director of the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship program. Before joining Hoag, Dr. Nangia last spent her time as medical director at the Chan Soon Shiong Institute for Medicine where she ran several phase 1 clinical trials. Dr. Nangia is board certified in Hematology/Oncology and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Nangia has a particular interest in breast cancer, as well as head and neck cancers.
She has received several awards and honors throughout her career including being named Teacher of the Year for three years consecutively for the UCI Hematology/Oncology Division. Dr. Nangia has held professorships at University of California at Irvine, Michigan State University and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Warren, Michigan among others.
She has more than two decades of research experience, serving as the primary investigator on several clinical research trials. Dr. Nangia has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and abstracts and given clinical presentations throughout the U.S. and abroad. Dr. Nangia has joined Hoag to initiate a cellular therapy program, bringing solid tumor NK cell therapy to Orange County patients.
She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) and the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPIO).
