About Diane D. Phan, MD

As an immigrant from Vietnam with humble beginnings, Dr. Phan values helping others and giving back to the community that offered her support. She was inspired to become a physician through her various volunteer experiences to provide free health screenings to her local community and to villagers in Vietnam and China. Wishing to emulate the kindness and compassion of the altruistic physicians who taught her, she pursued a career in primary care and has special interest in global health and preventative care.

Dr. Phan loves the opportunity to build rapport and trust with her patients and she values the meaningful relationships they develop. Her philosophy of care focuses on caring for the whole person and she takes great pride in her work. As she states, “I am inspired by my patients when they take charge of their health. Through our partnership, we can make change happen.”

In her practice, Dr. Phan aims to have mutual trust and understanding with her patients as well as facilitate shared decision making. She emphasizes the need for individualized treatment plans to make sure that she addresses each patient’s needs. It is through this collaboration that she sees immense success for her patients.

Dr. Phan earned her medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University and completed her residency at Riverside Community Hospital. She is also fluent in Vietnamese.

Excited to serve her local community, Dr. Phan enjoys spending time with family, cooking and trying new cuisines, gardening, and reading epic fantasy novels when she is away from the office.
