About James H. Ting, MD

Dr. Ting is a board-certified Primary Care Sports Medicine physician who specializes in the treatment of sports injuries, overuse injuries and trauma-related orthopedic injuries and conditions. Dr. Ting will customize a non-operative treatment plan for each individual to not only help to alleviate acute and chronic pain, but also aid in the return to optimal function. He is an advocate of building wellness programs geared towards injury prevention and rehabilitation. Additionally, Dr. Ting is highly experienced in ultrasound-guided procedures, as well as regenerative medicine procedures, such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections.

An Illinois native, Dr. Ting spent his formative years growing up in Southern California, where he graduated from UCLA with a degree in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Ting received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He subsequently returned to Southern California and completed his residency training at the UCLA-affiliated, Northridge Family Medicine Residency Program, where he was recognized as the program’s Outstanding Graduate Resident. Following residency, Dr. Ting completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

“My goal, and what I enjoy most about being a Sports Medicine physician, is being able to help the injured athletes and patients that I treat return to their sport or activity as quickly, but as safely as possible.”

Dr. Ting has served on the medical staff for international events such as the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, as well as other events such as the Los Angeles Triathlon, the Long Beach Marathon, and several NCAA Conference Championships across multiple sports.
