Dr. Vincent D. Nguyen is a Board-Certified Palliative Medicine Specialist with Board Certifications in Geriatrics and Family Medicine.
He earned his Medical Degree from Western University of Health Sciences in 1992 and completed a 2-year CHCF Fellowship in Health Care Leadership from UC San Francisco in 2016.
Dr. Nguyen currently serves as the Palliative Care Program Medical Director at Hoag Hospital and in this role, he provides direct medical care as well as oversight of the inpatient and outpatient palliative clinical services.
He is a volunteer Clinical Professor at the UCI School of Medicine and a founding member of the UCI Palliative Medicine Fellowship program for post-graduate and mid-career physicians to learn and teach the art of caring for people living with serious illness.
Dr. Nguyen co-chairs the Orange County Advance Care Planning Partners (formally known as the Orange County POLST Coalition) since 2009 to inform and educate the public on the value of advance care planning.
He has several publications in the Journals on Palliative Medicine and co-authored several chapters in 2 books on End-of Life issues published by the McGraw-Hill Companies.
Dr. Vincent Nguyen’s passion outside of medicine include golf outings with his 3 daughters, yoga classes with his wife of 29 years, annual silent retreat and long naps on the weekends.
